Decided that I'm going to put a small lift on the Tacoma. Its so low that its hard to get under the vehicle just to change the oil! Also, not to mention when going out on the trails.

I was looking at the lift that Slee offers, and was wondering if anyone had any advice or experience?

It is my daily driver, and I no longer have to drive out to Winnemucca for work. I was thinking of staying with the 265/75/16's, or bumping up to the 285's. Ive seen a lot of pictures and it looks like the 265's are on the small side for a lift....

Thanks!

Looks like a good kit.

No offense, but I'm starting to wonder why you are keeping/fixing the 80. Seems like you are going to have your bases covered with the 4runner for the extreme stuff and once you give the Taco a little clearance, it seems like it will handle pretty much everything else. Just curious...

I would run the 265's for a little while longer and then think about either a 285 or 255 for the Taco post lift. The 255's will still work on the stock rims (plus they are a little taller than 285's), whereas the 285's are starting to get too wide for the stock rims.

It just comes down to my love for the 80 series :D

The platform of the 80 is perfect for a hunting rig. Ive taken it out on my archery hunts and its done everything I need. I can load all my gear in the back, sleep inside it, and be comfortable riding down the trail. The Tacoma is nice, but the cab/bed doesnt allow me to do that. Both are too small to sleep in, and the 80 is more capable. I also dont plan on adding any armor to the Tacoma since its my DD and still gets 20+ mpg on the freeway. Now that Im back in Reno and I have more freetime I plan on getting the 80 back on track and built up for trips this summer.

The Tacoma has 130k miles on it and the suspension seems a bit on the sagging side. The more Ive thought about it, I dont think Ill end up going with the Slee kit cause 3" is too much for the 265's. Probably would look funny with that lift and smaller tires. I know the MPG's would suffer if I went with the 285's, so ill stay where i'm at. I took the Tacoma out shooting with some friends last week, and the thing sits so low that i was bottoming out on easy dirt roads.

Toytec has some suspension kits with adjustable coilovers that would allow me to lift the truck up a bit, but still keep the 265's. Going to look more into that.

I'm in the same boat w/ my 06.
Mine has 245's... It does surprisingly well off road, too, but I'd like to go 265's. I could probably get away w/ it, w/ the leveler kit I have....
I'd like to use it for longer excursion type runs as its just all around, better suited for that vs. my fj40.

You might consider revtek 2 1/2 lift. I have it on my 4 runner and it allows 33's with no major rubbing until I really flex out the back end then the mud flaps rub:hhmm:(might need to take them off). It cost 800.00 and that included installation. Could be a lot cheaper if you are doing it yourself. It keeps all the stock geometry with the axles so no need to change that around. And I think it looks good.

I've been thinking about going the Toytec route for a mild lift for my FJC. As I already have Bilstein 5100s, I can get their front coil over kit w/o shocks. Seems like a decent option, and one that's fairly affordable solution.

Sounds good.
