I had decided early on that I was probably not going to lift my 80, if anyhing just the OME mediums, but about a week ago I came across a real good deal here on mud for the OME heavies with rear shocks and caster correction that I couldnt pass up. There used but werent used very long, all I have to do now is buy shocks for the front and it should be ready to go.

Hey, did you add an ARB to the front of your 80? I passed a white 80 here in Greensboro the other day that looked pretty close to stock but the ARB front bumper.

I am with ya on the lift thing, I am trying to keep myself from buying one but yet I keep watching.

I am looking at adding a winch under the stock bumper, but I want to not mess anything up for towing since the camper is right on the edge of the tow rating already. However the HEAVY and maybe airbags on the rear...decisions..and VERY jealous of ya dude!!

:)

What part of Gso you in? I work in Brassfield area! Us white 80s gotta hang!

Sam

Hey Sam, I have an ARB front bumper, but I dont have it on there yet. Dont worry about the jealousy thing, you have a little dial just to the left of youre steering wheel that I am VERY jealous of. Im around the airport, just off 68. I'll pm you my number , give me a call sometime.

i think you need the vinyl patch w/ sombrero now and you can be done (for a while)

Steven,
Once you get the shocks lets us know. Greg and can do these in our sleep. We may be able to work out helping you if you want to drive to Raleigh. I have a press and spring compressors.

Sounds great, I talked to Greg earlier this evening and were going to shoot for this weekend, hopefully the shocks are going to come in tomorrow.

post pics soon! can't wait to see it the 80 all geeked up! we got a good bit of the 60 back to one peice last night. If you get your rig lifted today call me we'll be at Justin's house working on the 60.

what, no progress reports? i hear those were the hardest bushings ever to press in

Before and After

Well with Gregs help we had the lift installed in a little over 2 hours, then we had the control arms back on in about 20 minutes, but due to 2 faulty presses and 2 trips to Durham and back it took a day and a half to get the bushings pressed out of the control arms and the new ones put in. Greg I cant say thanks enough for all the help, and the use of youre truck to get me back to Greensboro, that went above and beyond, I owe you one. Also a big thanks to Jason and Alex for the use of the press and the bushing tool this morning. So heres a few pics.

No the rims were silver, it was parked on Guil College Road, just below Friendly, somewhere along there / Cleaner World / there is an office bldg. So it was white, lifted, black ARB front bumper. If I see em again I will take pics!!
