So, I'm in the market... little more serious than the last time I was shopping for a 100 series.

In Canada we have a 15 year rule for importation. Which markets got LHD diesels? My unicorn is some kind of a LHD turbo, manual transmission 105 but have no issues with a 100 if that is all that had diesel and LHD.

Input?

Thanks.

Pretty sure the only markets to receive LHD diesels would be Canada and Central and South America. edit, ehhh, on second thought.....

You're looking for a 98-00 HZJ105. There were no factory turbo 105's... but several aftermarket kits. For LHD ones, try Europe, South America, Middle East...

Get a 100 with a manual. 1HD-FTE. Turbo and electronic injection from the factory.

A list of countries with LHD 100 series 1HD-FTEs would be great. Manuals would be an added bonus.

Well, that would be most of Asia and Europe, Australia and quite a few countries in Africa. The Americas I don't know.

Would you like me to bring one when i move to ON?
What's the 15 year rule?

Australia? I thought those guys were right hand drive.
15 year import rule to bring vehicles into Canada. They have to be 15 years old to import. The USA has a 25 year old rule. That is why the 70 series are starting to show up like crazy over here.

Yes, LHD, LHD, LHD. He said LHD.
So, Oz, JP, UK and a few small ones out...
But still...

 Why not an Arctic Truck from Iceland? That's close to Can. Drive it over Greenland :)

Aha - minimum 15 yrs old. Other countries have the opposite rule - Not older than... (e.g. 4 yrs) "We don't want no old cars on our roads"

My wife has family in Germany. Did Germany get 105s and/ or 100s?

Canada never got diesel anything after the '62. Hell, we didn't even get the 100 or 200 series Land Cruiser (Lexus only).

There is a ferry from Iceland to Halifax... Hmm...

25, 15 years reeks of protectionism, 4 years reeks of nanny state. Can't win.
