I need to know who is interested in joining the team. This is a serious commitment and once you are on the team you need to be 100% in. At the moment We are racing on Dec 7 in Atlanta. We have one car ready (nissan 240sx) for this race now and 6 drivers for the one car. My boss (team owner) told me that if I could get at least two more drivers and a solid commitment from those drivers we can run the second car (mazda miata). This car would need a solid weekend of our capable hands to get it ready to race. Also as a driver you are required to pay a driver fee and aquire a fire suit. We have a few helmets but you may want your own. Besides drivers, you can be on the pit crew for free and hang out for the weekend and help with any fixes on the cars.
So, if I can find 2 drivers we can race two cars with 4 drivers per team. We can have up to 6 drivers per car so there is room for 4 of you guys to commit. It does cost some money but not to bad. It's not often that the opportunity to haul ass around a race track all day comes along.
If you want to help out and be on pit crew and not pay money to drive then let me know. I can use the help if something goes wrong with the car.
PM me your email address so my boss can send you info and an invitation to join the team.
Part of this commitment is to get both cars ready and the miata does need to be stripped and the roll cage installed etc. I need capable hands for this and this needs to be done ASAP. I was hoping in a couple weekends (Nov 3-4) There is plenty of room here on the farm and we can have a lot of fun with all the toys and trails. Come all who want to participate!
Holla!

I know I'm missing some info so feel free to ask.

Wish I could. Unfortunately with trying to find a new career right now, my weekends filling up with visiting family and lack of money being on one income right now I can't commit to anything this year. Hopefully next year I can commit to something.
There is a slight chance I could make it out to you on the 4th to lend a hand but I won't know that till it gets closer.

I have to 'acquire' a fire suit? That may knock me out of a driver position :(

Too many damn things to work on in the next two months

What weekend will work for you for the Miata build? Care much when it'll be?

Yes, a fire suit is a must. They are on the expensive side but are required of all drivers. And the way we will be sweating in the car it is not something we'll want to share. Unless we get more drivers, we will be waiting to build the miata. Right now we have a few minor things to do to the 240sx to get it ready.
Also, if anyone just wants to be part of the team and hang out and help out it doesn't cost anything.

I saw Mikeys race cars last night when we went to pick-up the pig cooker. The Miata was my favorite, probably because it's a convertible, but would require too much work to get ready in such a short time. The 240sx needs some work but already has the roll cage built-in and wouldn't require too much effort to be race worthy. I'm not much of a mechanic (more like jack leg) but would be willing to assist the weekend of the 17th if anyone is up for it. He has enough room we could help another member in need and make it an official HAMOM. Anybody else?
