Led light strip strange problem !!

got led light strip w/ 6 lights to strip each one is little less than postage stamp in size from All4offroad.com A 2 wire hookup, when I test red & black to battery strip lights up fine and will burn for hours, but when I crank up cruiser in less than 30 seconds lights all go off except 2 , they pull only 1.5 amps. thanks for any help.

Measure the voltage at the lights for both running on battery only, and with the engine running. My bet is when the alternator kicks in and the voltage goes up to recharge the battery they go over some voltage and the lights shut off due to over voltage.

Thanks for the feedback, will led lights with 1.5 amp rating be permanently damaged if this happens, reason I ask only 2 out of 6 will burn on each strip now ? how would you correct this if is the issue ?

What are the conditions when only two light up? Does that only happen when the engine is running, or now all the time? A lot depends on what the design on the LED controller circuits are.

Its all the time, I wish I could download a pic, their is a pic on all4offroad.com of led strips the ones with 6 square lights, is 14.8 out put to much for LEDS thanks ,

It depends on the LED controller circuits. A simple resistor could easily allow to much current to flow through them during the initial charging phase after starting the vehicle.
