FYI - Just reattached my driver's side fender flare for the passenger door following my first four-wheeling in my new to me 93. Went to Boone, NC, a couple of weeks ago after a recent snow and wheeled it pretty hard, loosening an already rattling flare. Couple of learnings:
1. The bottom bolt is hard as h@ll to get on; no fun
2. The rubber strip is virtually irreplacable OEM unless you buy the whole flare piece for the passenger door - $171 @ Toyota
3. To replace rubber strip, I actually used a thick ply, rubber weather strip used for the bottom of garage doors. Unbelievably easy to cut and mold into the right shape needed to fit between the body and flare - and low cost ($8). Took me all of 20 minutes to install - after tightening the bottom bolt - and looks just like the OEM rubber gasket. So far it appears to stop the rain fairly well (its raining today here in Clt) as the rubber appears slighlty moist when touching it from inside the flare (and this is after a 45 minute drive in moderate/heavy rain).
Hope this helps someone out there!
