I have searched and searched, but I haven't been able to find anyone that has either the same description of thier fuel leak or pictures. I noticed after I bought it on Monday :frown: but i think it is just corrosion of one of the flexible fuel lines at the tank. I called Toyota of America this morning, and this truck had the recall done in September of '91.

Notice how clean and dry the sway bar, tank, and axle are.

Notice in this one how dirty/wet the sway bar and axle are.

These two show the amount of buildup and sludge on the bottom of the tank.

This final one shows where the fuel is getting through to the outside of the frame rail, on the body mount behind the rear tire.

I am pretty sure this is from the flexible fuel lines, but wanted to get a second opinion. What do you guys think?

First, Remove emission fuel hose skid plate which is shown in last photo and check hose linkage.
IMHO, I suppose leak is not from fuel tank itself but from rubber hose connecting point.
If leak is from fuel tank itself, check to Toyota dealer about recall 'SSC M01' with your truck's VIN.

Oh, Min Seok

What is the inner diameter of these hoses?

Also, if it not from these hoses, where else could it be from? That seemes like quite a bit of fuel coming out of those hoses.

My truck had the fuel tank replaced in '91 by the dealer per recall.

If there's no crack on gas tank, other leak points are clear.
One is fuel guage sender unit, the other is fuel pump mount if gaskets are worn.
IMHO, I don't think gas tank leak cause rough idle but I don't know exactly about relation of this.
