My 95 75 series troopy needs new eye bushes. I had enough polyurethane bushes hanging around to do the rear of my front leaf springs,They were the worst.
I went and bought a pack of 24 from the local parts stores but they have given me a pack of a 12 smaller diameter bushes for the rears. When I say smaller the internal diameter for the pin is the same but the outer diameter and flange is about 5-10mm smaller.
I always thought the bushes were all the same size? I can return them no problems but I wanted to start with all the right sizes. I hate going to the shop halfway through doing something.
Anyone know?

Hello Rosco,

Both the FSM and the EPC say the same part, and therefore the same size, is used for front and rear axles.

On my 73, front and rear bushing are the same size. However, I did not take them out for measuring. I measured them from the outside.

Hope this helps.

Yes ,I'm forming the same opinion. I checked the part numbers of 3 other sites and they are all the same ,front and rear. I had another look at the seller I got them from and its confusing because their catalogue contradicts itself.

Same size for the front spring for both spring eyes and chassis, the rear spring is a different size, but use all the same size on the spring eyes and chassis, I would say there was a communication error, and they thought you were after rear spring bushes not the rear bush for the front spring.

They are for Old Man Emu heavy duty ColdTaco
Its settled ,the part number on their catalogue is wrong, so they gave me the wrong bushings. I see a lot of sites where they get 7* series identification wrong. I think they must get the office girl to work out what model goes with what parts.
I used Nolathene brand ,red colour.
Ive only finished the rears and the rear mounting for the front springs but its aready riding nice.
My old ones were brittle and dry and disintegrated as I removed them from the eye. The grease nipples were working but the holes that allow the grease to get to the bushing were blocked with dried grease and possibly mud/dust ,so all the greasing in the world never helped these.
The car sat for 4 years in a car park and only done 3000klms in that time,so a lot of the grease was in that condition in other parts such as the doors and splines.
But the service records were regular before the 4 years of doing almost nothing.
It has 260000 klms on it now(Ive done 50 of them ,not bad for a 95 in Australia. Most of the are nudging 400000+ now.
I'm only doing 12000klms a year average now. I use a 180cc scooter or my big bike if the weathers good. Saves me a bit in maintenance costs.
