Hi all,

We offer off road adventures on an island called Curaçao in the carribean.

Currently running stock leafs on a LC79 1HZ single cab, someone on our island is selling his complete old heavy duty suspension (with mounts/bushings/shocks/shackles) after an upgrade to TerrainTamer.
His ride is a LC79 v6 petrol dual cab and never saw any dirt and he sells the suspension for cheap since we are the only others with a 79 on the island. (5 in total).
On one of the 79's the leafs start to show a crack after 10 years of carrying people through the landscapes so time to change them out.

Since budget is limited and import duties are crazy high (27% over Cost,Insurance and Freight) I was wondering if the heavy duty leaves and coils will just bolt on and fit the standard mounts.

If not any idea what we have to adjust to make them fit?

Tl;dr: Can you fit the heavy duty stock suspension from a petrol 79 on a 79 single cab HZ without problems/adjusting?

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Agreed, 79 to 79 should be fine. You might be the first to swap leafs from “normal” to “heavy duty” though. For most the “normal” ones are plenty firm enough 😆

Don’t like the firmness what so ever haha but one of the leafs actually snapped and is broken in half; we need something. Someday we will look into parabolics with 400kg constant weight but for the time and the budget the even more firm heavy duty’s will do for now…

If not for the ridiculous import tax we would have changed a lot of things already!

Thank you all for the replies looks like I’m going to have a fun time soon doing some heavy lifting!
