LC Roof Rails to LX? (1 Viewer)

The factory (front to back) rails on my 2004 LX are a bit shorter than the 3 feet rails that came on the LCs. Has anyone transplanted LC rails to an LX? I’d like to do a low budget diy roof rack and looking at options. I have been told the LC rails won’t work at all.

It should work, but the forward most holes (towards the front of the truck) are hidden under the roof trim piece, you'll need to pry it up and cut a hole right there to mount. At least that's the way it is on my 2005 and 2006 LX that i've owned.

I have seen 2 LXs with LC's roof rails.

Cross rails are different. Tried to add LC cross rails to my LX, LC cross rails are shorter by about 1/2 inch, otherwise same shape and mounting. You could redrill holes and it would fit but likely compromising load bearing capacity. Instead I picked up 2 additional LX cross rails and will use 4 cross rails to bear the load of a RTT on the stock LX roof rack

Yeah, I plan on using TSlot bars in place of the OEM crossbars.
