I'm a Canadian looking at the 73 series and possibly importing a RHD. The question I have is related to a LHD conversion. Do the 70 series cruisers from the 1980's have the same firewall? In other words, could I use a firewall from a Canadian 70 series to do a LHD conversion on a late 1990's 73 series? I know there may be other issues that would need to be dealt with (axle differences?) just need to know if this is even possible.
Thanks.

rhd is really not that bad; not worth the effort of lhd swap IMHO. Felt comfortable in my rhd after the first 15min driving after buying. If you feel you have visibility issues, install a mild lift and bigger tires. Then you just see over everyone.

One recurring question that I hear concerning a RHD Cruiser is how safe is it when you are attempting to pass another vehicle? Here is the answer ..... Passing someone in a diesel powered Cruiser is like buying a winning lottery ticket .... it might happen but it won't happen often enough to be a concern.

Why not buy a late 70 model in Holland,I have seen several 97 to 2002 HZJ74's popping up for sale lately. They all are LHD !

Just my 2 cents

Joe
