Well the truck has been sitting since surprise lake, I have not had time to weld the exhaust back on and also it took forever to dry out the tent because It kept raining. But I drove it for the first time yesterday since the run and I noticed the stick shift moving like a cat on the prowl. figured busted motor mount so I had the wife drive it into a tree in 2 low and sure enough the engine lifted clear off its mount.

I can only hope somehow thats related to the noise I was hearing on the trail that btw for those who didnt have fsr's went away as soon as I unlocked the front hubs right after leaving the second time we stopped.

I cant figure how it would but I can dream haha, I dont wanna pull my knuckles apart again. Time to source some BJ motor mounts.

I looks like the consensus from the 60s crowd is to just drill and run a bolt through it to hold it down, Its a pretty crappy design in the first place if you look at it. Sounds like anyone with a 60 and a lower crawl ratio has to do this or another option. I guarantee it broke at that spot on the trail.

Got my fingers crossed hoping the motor mount is what was causing the noise in the front.

Kyle try and contact TOR OFFROAD. He's up north, but I'm sure he has mounts at his shop.

I am really hoping it was, I am thinking the engine was lifting so high that the drive line was binding (I hope) My pretty much starts to bind at full droop so fingers crossed as well.
The one thing I cant remember is If I through it in 2low when I unlocked the hubs. If I was unlocking the hubs I had to suspect the front diff and it would be likely I would take it out of 4low to stop the diff from spinning all together. Ah I dono we will see.

Thanks Dain, but I guess it will just break again, sounds like the wheelers carry spares until they get sick of replacing them and then they just bolt or chain it down.

I think I am going to make a L bracket welded to my frame with a little poly bushing in between so it holds it down but will still be able to take vibration.

That's what I was thinking. Either lifting it up high enough to where it was binding or hitting on something. That would explain why it only did it when it was in a bind. I'll keep my fingers crossed too.

Finally got around to the truck, found out the front drive line slip joint cover was snapped as well, Why I have no idea but that would make some noise. Still have to put it through some torture to test it out. Fixed the motor mount and welded the exhaust back up temporarily again, hopefully for the last time this time.
