Last minute Run out to F J - Sunday 11-4

I am planning on going out to out to Florence Junction tommorow morning for a quick run, possibly Martinez and out through Box, meeting up at cottonwood canyon rd staging area at 10:00am, CB channel 4.

If anyone is interested in a last minute "easy" run I will see you there. ("Easy" because family is in town, and we're looking for scenery more than crawling)

So far, just me and Bill (yldbill) are going - so please join us if you have the opportunity.

It's amazing how "easy runs" turn into winchin, body damage and broken driveshafts......

...yeah we got home OK, showed my sister from Alaska a little more hands on than I had planned, but had a good run. I slid sidways into a rock on my right rear tailight area (4runner), luckily just kissed it...barely bent any sheet metal. A few minutes and a pull from Bill and we were on our way.
A little later Bill sheared off a U joint in his front driveshaft powering up a pretty steep step on our way out....all in all a GREAT DAY WHEELIN!

Take it from me ,don't ever go out with FJ40LVR when he tells you it's just gonna be a" quick scenic trip ". Ihad a really good time even though I had issues with my rig. Guess I'll just quit putting off my mods since I'm already gonna have to wrench on it.

Let me know if you want a replacement Driveshaft (or just U joint)....got all the makins laying here not doing anything.

Bill, did either if the front shafts I gave you work with your length front travel? If Not, I think I have one more up in the attic from a stock 74' I scounged several years back.
