Has anyone tried 33" or larger tyres on the 200 yet?

Looks like 33" will fit as is but anything bigger will need a 2" suspension lift if they can fit at all.

In Australia the 200 ships with 285/65 17 tyres as OE which are about the same diameter as the 285/60 18 in the US. The OE tyres are about 31.5"

I currently upgraded to Nitto Terra Grapplers from stock. They measure about 31-1/2". With the new tires, it looks tight behind the front tires. No doubt a 33" will fit in the back, but I think there may be rub in the front with 33" (at least on turning articulation).

It would be great if someone did fit them on, so we would have some feedback. The other option is wait for ARB's 50mm lift. That would cure any rub issues for sure.

You should post some photos of your rig ?

not sure I know how to. It would be nice to post pics.

its easy, just host your pictures on a website like www.photobucket.com, then copy and paste the direct link of the picture into the box that comes up when you click the picture box on the "reply to thread" section.

I'm dieing to see pics of the new rubber!!!!!!

You can email me the pics and I will host them for you too,

sorry, i forgot i had to take another truck home last night. Damn, i think i need different lug nuts. it might take a little longer than 48 hours.:whoops:

Man, I 'm not too sure about that ?? Just cause you CAN stuff 33's in there doesn't mean you should !! Looks like a recipe for some rubbing without a mild lift, at least .....IMO . I'm not a big fan of over tiring in the first place. Doesn't too large of tires ultimately cause a negative effect on articulation anyway ??

Nice. The cruiser looks very good on the road (do you have a lift on it or is that stock). Btw, is that a Ferrari Spyder in the red ?

true tall tires can open a whole bag of worms, added weight, harder on steering and suspension joints, worse mileage, worse braking, but so far in daily driving they haven't been an issue and I'm looking into different lifts before I start wheeling it aggressively. As for large tires having a negative effect on articulation I'm not sure I understand what you mean? As long as the suspension bottoms out before the tires rub then articulation should stay the same, plus the larger radius of the tires should help roll over obstacles. The major gain though is the more aggressive tread versus the factory street tires. Plus the fact that the 17-inch rim offers more tire choices than the 18's.

As far as the articulation thing I was thinking that too large of tires effecting articulation in that if they're too large they could possibly impede full drop on one side due to the larger wheel on the opposite side not being able to compress fully inside the wheel well....That make ANY sense at all ???

No it does not make any sense at all.
We are talking about a 33" tire in this thread. That is not a monster truck tire.

Read up on articulation.
Read up on IFS.
Read up on KDSS

The front wheelwell clearance at the frame mount is the same issue FJCruiser and 4Runner owners deal with. If you are modifying enough to warrant MT's, this is a relatively minor fix.

Do you .. means me . ? :D I hope ! this 200 Series should be mine .. ! no way ! ( don't get me wrong .. only I haven't how to pay 92,500 USD for one .. I if can, never gonna spend that big $ in a brand new car no matter it's a Land Cruiser .. )

Yes .. it's a Ferrari ..
