I just got a new set of 31x10.5 tires on the BJ60. I upgraded from the tiny stockers. These have not been balanced yet so I don't know if the problem is all balancing or not. I plan to balance but is there any other possibilities? I had no problems with the smaller tires.

I also recently replaced my stock size tires with 31x10.50. I had them balanced by the shop that did the mounting. The ride is actually much better than with the old tires and there's no shimmy even at highway speeds.

I bet if you changed the front wheels with the backs it would stop.

It's probably balancing if you are using the same wheels.

I just got new wheels and tires and am experiencing the same trouble.
One brand new wheel is out of round, and one tire required lots of weight to balance out. Lots of moving tires & wheels around, mounts and dismounts before finally got the shimmy out. All brand new supposedly quality tires and wheels, I wasn't expecting all this.

Ok, we'll get them balanced and see what happens. Here in Guatemala the tire shops are kind of like your garden shed, a pile of tires and not much else! Certainly no balancing machine.

It was a combination of balancing and severe overinflation (some as high as 45psi). The shop that installed them overinflated them and did not remove the old weights.
It's good as new now.
