I'm way over taking my UZJ 100 to the local Toyota dealers. Seems they always assign some idiot who could care less if he is working on a LC or a Prius. My experience is that the 'techs' at the dealer are warm bodies with minimal training that would be unemployable at a real independent shop. :bang: (rant over)
Can anyone recommend a Landcruiser specialist shop or mechanic in Ft Lauderdale area? Seems my 100 has developed an oil leak/seepage, passenger side in the area of the the head gasket. I noticed the problem from the smell of the oil buning when it drips onto the exhaust manifold.
Thanks.

I can't help you on mechanics in South FL. I gave up on them and take mine up to Lakeland if I can't handle it on my own.

You should double check to be sure that the leak is not coming from the valve covers. The bolts on mine rattled loose and caused some seepage. Re-torqing the bolts stopped the leak in my case.

Believe it or not, Lakeland Toyota. They have always done great work for me far cheaper than the Keys or Homestead folks. They even throw in a little Corolla to tool around in while they take care of business.

A friend of mine owns the one of the local Precision Tune shops. I can't say that he is a LC specialist (I do most of my own work), but I have taken numerous other cars to him as have my co-workers/family, etc and he always does good work, he is honest and in business for the long haul so I don't have any problems recommending him. I'll give you his name and number if you want.

Just don't go to Headquarters or Marronne. Both are morons and I had days and days of wasted time dealing with those idiots. Total pain went on for almost 1year before a claims adjuster finally discovered the problem.
