Mines a 5

when i was looking for a 200 series for my wife i remember thinking the 3rd row power seats only came in the lexus. of all the bells and whistles, that was a major option that she really liked on our expeditions so she really wanted it on the "next" car.

Yeah i have seen 200's with 5 but not sure about the US. The document i have for the US market with the VIN info for MY2013 says they did bring in 200's ( land cruiser ) to the US that had been Made in Tahara as well as Yoshiwara.

My US-spec 2013 was born in Yoshiwara:

I think it is interesting that your 200 was made 4/12 and its a 2013. My LX570 was made 11/11 and is a 2011. 5 months equals 2 model years.

There was no Model Year 2012 for the U.S. LC200's - production went straight from MY2011 to MY2013.

I know but anyone that bought a new 2011 at the end of 2011 got killed on potential resale value. Hope Lexus was handing out some great deals to those late 2011 new LX570 buyers. I paid $52k for my $90k MSRP 2011 LX with 29k miles on it with perfect records and condition, that was 6 months ago. A 2013 that might of been built 3 months after mine with the same miles and condition would of sold for $15k more then what I paid. Kind of crazy of Lexus to do this to their customers. JMHO

From the LC200s Ive been looking at, 2013+ have 4s in the 11th digit of VIN, whereas 2011 and earlier have 5s. Haven't looked at any LXs so I can't comment on that.

All LX versions will be a 5 since they are all manufactured at Yoshiwara.

LC's will vacillate between the two plants depending on production schedules, shipping schedules, supply/demand, etc.

Well ... "4" is Yoshiwara, not "5." o_O

Sorry, haven't had my Sanka recently.

Sanka - Are you dead, mon?
Mine is a 4.
To the OP:
LX is harder to modify than the LC. I NOW know that one. They are also harder to find (at least here...) and tend to be more expensive (200s only). BUT, depending upon your price range... didja state it, cause I didn't see it (sorry if I missed it), you might just end up with an LX. Although I am still getting used to the hydraulic suspension. There are days that I love it and days that I hate it.
