Hey guys,
As some of might have herd the nissan patrol has been launched in abu dhbai on saturday.
It is now riding on a monoque chassis and all independant supsension set up.

And it uses no stabilisers at all with down hill assist control , hill assist control
and a suspension setup designed by the same company which made the kdss ( still not proven )

it has 4 wheel drive offroad mode with 4 settings (including snow, i wonder how will that be of any use in the gulf specs :S )

Its larger and wider than a land cruiser closer to a yukon.
Powered by a meaty

5600 400 hp beast with a 7 speed auto trans with manual mode

and another version

5600 320 hp with 5 speed expected to go on base models.

The current solid axle Patrol will stay in production in some markets to fill the gap like the 105 did.

To be honest it looks amazing on the inside...just no too utilitarian!

What do you think toyotas come back will be? Adding 5.7 engines to gulf spec
cruisers or giving the 5.7 engine a refresh and rising it up to 400hp + adding another gear ?

Thank you very much.

Toyota can add a factory supercharger and take the 5.7 to 500 hp and 500 ft lbs of torque.

I want a supercharger for my 200. But they currently don't make one. If you use he Tundra SC, it may cancel he LC warranty. Not worth it.

I was just saying that if Toyota wanted too, they could easily add the supercharger to the LC as factory equipment and raise the hp to 500hp. The new Patrol looks super nice inside. I wonder if the Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX will just be a rebadged Partol?

patrol

I wonder if they will still offer the old type patrol that is so popular in rugged areas of the world. The new one sounds like armada to me.

my company is a Tier 2 Vendor at Nissan's facility in Canton, MS (currently prodcuces the Titan,Armada, QX56, Altima, and The Quest). From what i've heard from being in there, Nissan is going to take the Infiniti QX56 much more up market and aim it more at the Range Rover folks. It will be produced in Japan, not in Mississippi. Sounds like the Armada and the Titan will continue production in MS. There was discussion at one point of moving the Titan to Mexico and letting Dodge build it, but I think that's been thrown out the window. On the line where the QX56 was being built, a new Light Commercial Vehicle with a diesel is going to start production in October of this year. Trials are starting in March on this vehicle.

Sounds like the QX56 replacement will be built off the Nissan Patrol.

QX is def. based on the new Patrol. Gorgeous interiors but they are not Land Cruiser competition anymore.
They will appeal to the Escalade crowd.

The closest to the Patrol now, would be the Sequoia. The Patrol looks a lot better than the Sequoia though.

Too bad the last Patrol never made it to the USA. That was the perfect marriage of the 80 & 100.

i dont think the arabs care about the warranty or stock Hp figures. They can Chip it and supercharge their 200 series.
about Nissan patrol as i have seen a heard the old early 90 model low roof is the most popular among the patrol

looks like a 200 series cruiser with a nissan grill to me. and bleh to the full independent susp. i reckon they'll lose sales to some of the fleet companies here unless they keep something like the old model. might get a couple in the higher end of the market though
