I crashed my LC105 4.2 Diesel, I wont to get a new jeep specificlly for hunting & fishing. I live in Russia Moscow. The thing is there are no new LC105 in the shops as they are off production. I need it to be a good off-road performer similiar to the LC105. What about the FJ Cruiser 6MT will it be any good for off roading like on the LC105? What about the Tundra i think its a poor off road performer.. What about the Land Cruiser 105 from Dubai i heard it has Dual Gas Tanks is that True, how is it different from the European version?

Hi!
always good to hear from folks in Russia.

Well, I doubt either one of the FJC and the Tundra would wheel like a 105. Probably nothing much out there that can. The FJC folks have been modifying theirs quite a bit, though, and seem happy with the wheeling capabilities. Tundra is not really a serious off-road vehicle.

Are you sure the 105s are no longer in production? or is that just not available in Russia?

Are there any Diesel 80s available out there?

FJC can be a capable wheeler, maybe even more so than the 105, but will never be as heavy-duty. Stuff that you never worried about in the 105 will start breaking in the FJC. Don't know about Tundra, but suspect the same. Can you even get the Tundra there? It's made in the U.S. specifically for this market to compete with the Ford F150 and Chevy/GMC trucks. Different design emphasis (they favor towing and payload versus true offroad capability and versatility).

Try to get a 105 from another market if you can. Or a Nissan Patrol. Or a Mercedes G-Wagon. Or, if creature comforts are less of a concern, a Land Rover Defender. There is not much else out there that compares with these particular trucks, IMHO.

Oh Derek, the G wagon?
Crap interior
cramped interior
big blinds spots
won't fit bigger than 32's
no modifications avail
FJC has better articulation and ground clearance stock

(I know you mean the Diesel G-wagon, and it's not the overpriced pos that they sell here in the usa):grinpimp:

I vote the Nissan Patrol!! I think that is awesome. Roberto describes it as a heavy duty version of the 80! Nice mix of the 80 and 100 in every way (size, luxury, sfa, power)

Yes, from everything I've heard, that new V8 Mercedes diesel is nice. But really, the old 300GD (460 series) or the newer 290GD (461 series) with the 5-speed are freakin' battleships. The V8 petrols (of the :princess: 463 series) that we get in the States are laughable. Bring on the bling baby! :grinpimp:

Damn, I wish we got the Patrol here! No factory option for two lockers, but that can be remedied by ARB. I understand that the Patrol does fix some of the Cruiser's weaknesses, such as that weak front diff!

I dont put the Patrol/Safari in the same class as a cruiser due to less interiour (spell, sorry) room. Depends what you need. They have their own weaknesses that the cruiser does not. Fire proof suit on :)
Bit of a thread hijack - sorry.
Need to decide exactly what you need, I think, - you have quite a range of different types of vehicles listed.
Can you wait for the 200srs, due in a few months?
Matt

looks like they are still avaliable is australia

Yep, and in South Africa too. But they force the front passenger to hold the steering wheel and operate pedals, due to a design flaw.

:D :D :D

LC vs. patrol? try driving a patrol and you wont go back to it. the interior feels loose.

Of course I have never been in a Patrol, but this is the one I'm talking about
