Industrial 1/8"-3/16" thick rubber flooring. It comes in all colours and sheen's. Almost impossible to destroy. Chemical resistant, withstands temperature swings -15 f to 180f, the adhesive is very specific. I talked to the manufacturer about freeze thaw. It is advertised and stated it will take 5x at a temp at 0 f before the glue line is compromised. But they tested it at -30 f. I explained the application and he said absolutely. They test like an elevator. They test and then dial back with the limits -25-30%.

With the thickness of 1/8"-to 3/16" you can bore out the caps on the face. So you won't see the bolts telegraphing. It's sorta "sticky" as well but still smooth. Very easy to work material. Cut on table saw and rout flush. You could do the entire face in an easy day. Tools would be a glue roller to apply the glue, a table saw to cut the material, some clamps.
