Does anyone know if a '94 Prado (KZJ78) uses R12 or R134a refrigerant? I've read that '94 was the conversion year but was looking for a knowledgeable person to confirm. Thanks.

yep just got mine regassed with R134A , sticker in engine bay confirms it as well
but even with R12 you can still regass with R134a just might not blow as cold but not enough to notice, Ive had a sparky mate do about 3 old cars of mine regassed in the past and never had any issues, he has a little adaptor to fit the newer lines to gas it up

Mid 1993 was the changeover period from R12 to R134a.
My 1993 came with R134a from the factory.
Many people have done the conversion of R12 to R134a , but R134a is not as efficient at cooling as R12.
