is the issue or desire to go AMBER a style want or a LEGAL import need ?

DEPO has both amber and "crystal clear" corner lamps. It's a bit harder to find the amber, but they are produced. You can take a look at FLEX's inventory - they seem to use plenty of the orange lamps, though there is a chance they are spraying the clear ones with amber tinted paint.
