I am considering buying Koni Raid Shocks at £112.00 each +VAT when fund allow.
The dimensions open and closed are,

Front Min 368mm Max 622mm

Rear Min 375mm Max 610mm

Does any one know what the open and closed dimensions of OME shocks are?

I don't know about the Koni's for Trucks, but as a lifetime Bistein user (various BMW's and the LC) who recently installed Koni's on my Wife's BMW, I am a convert. They ride better than the steins while still providing the needed dampining.

Yes I have used Koni before on lots of stuff I even had some made up for my Landover 101 Forward Control they offer superb damping and are adjustable for wear though I liked playing around to find a setting that suits me. On the 101which I have had since 1990 every one in the 101 club were very impressed by the ride even though the damping was considerably firmer than standard and they also allowed better grip in slippery stuff . I had an MR2 the early series many years a ago and had top adjustable ones, they were incredible I used to go very fast over hump backs to take off because the landings were so controlled with no drama. It is a pity that these don’t adjust with out uncoupling. The raid shocks are meant to offer advantages over the standard valve and have a hydraulic sort of bump stop that stiffens damping as the shock reaches the ends of play. They are meant to be 2” longer than standard so that is one of the reasons why I am asking about the relative lengths of closed and open, I think I will have to write to OME, but I am curious what other lengths people have for other shocks. :)

That comes out to $850 USD for the set of 4 plus VAT,

that is a lot of money for a set of shocks, I put a set of Bilstein's on my Chevy truck and thought they were expensive, the improvemnt over the wore out factory shocks was impressive.

BTW WTF is VAT? I see that when Euro stuff is for sale, is that a national sales tax or something? in the US sales tax is state by state and interstate sales are exempt (including internet for the mean time)

The Koni Raid is a twin tube 2.5" (nearly) body damper... quite massive, bump stop, 3/4" rod, overbuilt in every way. I could be off base, but I believe Koni products fetch substantially more $$ in other countries.

The 30 series mono tube gas dampers run in the USD $75 - $100/pop range. They would be comparable to a billy, only better!

Sorry your thread hasn't produced an answer to your ??? GF.

VAT stands for value added tax. Other than that don't know much about it (yet). Since I work for a retailer I think I may learn one of these days, but seeing as we only have US stores, I don't think I'll learn for a while ;)

VAT is Value Added Tax which in the UK is at 17.5% and I think the same thr0ugh out Europe. :)
