BCC club run on the famous Kokopelli trail running from near Fruita to Moab. It's 140 miles of mostly dirt roads that range from easy to moderate with one difficult spot on Rose Garden Hill. We will be on the trail for three days camping along the way, but it could run over to four if we poke along or have some trouble. This trail is too challenging for trailers. Please be prepared with a well equipped rig and enough food, water and fuel for a full four days JIC. Must have a working CB.

When we get to Moab plans are uncertain and open to suggestion. May stay near town and run local trails, head north to the sand dunes or run up to Dome Plateau. End date is open too depending on what happens after arriving in Moab.

Details will be posted soon.

NOTE NEW START TIME:

Plan is to meet in Fruita at the Shell station at NOON. Get off the interstate at the only Fruita exit, go left over the freeway, continue through two traffic circles and continue south about 1/4 mile to the Shell station and Wendy's. McDonalds is just across the street. Fuel up at Shell as there is no gas until Moab 140 miles west. We plan to leave NLT 12:30 and head for the trail. Be sure you have sufficient fuel, water, food and other supplies to last a minimum of four days on the trail. We hope to do it in three, but JIC. This will be a moderate paced run with lots of stops for photos and exploring interesting spots along the way.

Hope to see a good turn out Saturday at noon. .

Sorry you can't make as we're really hoping for a few rigs showing up. :-(

No ones going to join us on the famous Kokopelli Trail? You can always do a Saturday to Sunday run and drop down Onion Creek Rd or just Saturday.

Due to the rain forecast to last to Saturday morning were changing the START time to NOON to allow some drying time.

I didnt have a working rig until this afternoon so I made other plans. This would have been a great run to join you guys on though. Next time for sure.

Sorry you can't make it too; next time for sure.

Still plenty of time to join us on the Rabbit Valley section from there to Dewey Bridge. However if we find the going is sticky we may camp sooner and wait until Sunday so the route can dry out.

First nights camp. On the edge! Trail is in fine shape and no dust.

Second nights camp, also on the edge with about a 1000' drop to the Colorado below. Taken from the overlook off Dome Plateau. Got a light shower last night but tonight better be totally dry as I'm sleeping on a cot with no tent.

Nice pics, looks like a good time.

Odd experience last night, at least it shouldn't happen in the desert, but a heavy dew soaked my sleeping bag. Tonight were camped a few miles short of Rose Garden Hill. Here's Doug on top of Top of the World and tonight's sunset.

Excellent Guys! Thanks for putting it together and posting!

Finished up in Moab yesterday and spent the night up along Kane Creek. Disappointed to see most of that valley closed to boondock camping. Next thing you know BLM will want to brand us and put tags in our ears!!!

Here are a few shots of Doug on the infamous Rose Garden Hill. It's steeper and rougher than these photos would lead you to believe.
