I just got my Kodiak Tent delivered yesterday and me and the kids set it up last night and camped in the front yard. First off it weighs about 75lb including all the poles.
The poles are steel and appear to be built very well. I am a little retarded so it took me a bit to figure out the setup- but my wife helped and we got it set up. Next setup I estimate will take about the 15 minutes the box says. The seams all are very well done. The floor material is beefy (we still put down a tarp underneath). We put 2 double sized air mattresses in it last night and had plenty of room to spare. Upon waking in the morning there was no dew or moisture on the tent (granted it was 60 degrees last night, but we always have morning fog) My daguhter said it was like sleeping in her bedroom, just a comfortable. Having 2 girls and my wife, we needed the extra space for their stuff. I will post more opinions as we are going camping in the next few weeks. First impressions are it well built and worth the money. I got it from Familytents.com which had the best price and they shipped fairly quickly. I looked at the Springbar, but couldnt afford the extra dough, but I am happy with Kodiak. See below for pics:

Dont laugh at my stairs- it is not easy building into a rock laden hill.

That is a nice looking tent. I'm still thinking about pulling the trigger on one. How much room do they take up when packed up? I'm assuming there is a tent bag & pole bag?

It is a little long packed at about 4ft. Rolls up nicely though. The bag is a wrap around cinch design, so you dont have to try to stuff it into a standard bag. Poles do not have a bag- I will probably try to find something that works like a deck table umbrella bag.

Wow! great pictures and a great looking tent. I love the scenery in your front and backyard. I would like to get the one that measured 10 feet by 10 feet. The seams look pretty well made.

We packed it up today and it does have a pole holder bag. Took about 10 minutes to unpack and the cinch bag they have completely eliminates the stress of trying to stuff the tent in a bag. Basically you lay the bag out and wrap it around the tent and cinch it up. I would give a thumbs up if your on the fence.

I couldn't be happier with mine. Very well made and overal the best tent I've ever seen much less owned. In the heat it is relatively cool and in the snow it kept us warm. Congratulations and enjoy!

Thanks for the write up! Did you feel that the canvas was thick enough to withstand years of use? Zippers of good quality?

I'm debating between this and an Oztent RV-5...but this one is about $1K less expensive, with all the Oztent goodies added....

I broke down and bought one. The only place that seemed to have them in stock was Cabela's. $499 with free shipping (plus $12 oversize charge). Hopefully I can get out and give it a try in a week or so.

I think the canvas should hold up well with care. The zippers are heavy duty YKK. Worked flawlessly. Basically the main thing I see is making sure it is dry and clean before putting away. Congrats on the purchase, I dont think you will be dissapointed.
