Well finaly doing rebuild. Wish me luck. I orderd parts from cruiseroutfitters.com yesteday, they should be here by the weekend. I plan to do the rebuild over spring break. Im also doing wheel bearings while Im there. I wanted to do the TRE, but cash flow does not allow at this time. Will this be ok or should i just sit on the rebuild untill I can get all the parts.

Did a search fro which brand is best for the money and found cheapest from ccot. Anyone running these? How have they held up? I read that they tend to rust. Any info will be gratly apreciated as always.

Gracias!

I was ready to use the CCOT TRE kit until I compared it with OEM. The CCOT is attractively priced, but the parts do not seem to be the same quality as OEM. The price difference is pretty significant, though. A complete set of OEM TREs will run about $280.00, if you buy them from C-Dan.

Doing the knuckles now is fine. Do the TRE's later is also fine. Both are separate projects, each can be done on it's own.

Thanks for the replies

I guess my question is will not replacing worn TRE effect the life of knuckle components.

I got the CCOT ones and I'm not super happy with them... they don't adjust as much as the OEM ones do (less holes for the cotter pin) and the first set they sent wore out in about 2 weeks...

I'd buy them once... and get OEM or something like that.
