Hi All.... for some reason when I first set off after the car has sat all night, when I first start braking, there is a definate rotational knocking sound when I brake and quite loud too.

It gradually goes the more I use the brakes and the knock seems to be on every revolution of the wheel, I have tried the hand brake and the noise is not there, it's only when I use the foot brake

The knocking normally has gone after I have braked about 4 times and then very faint after that.

Anyone any ideas?

ps I was just thinking, perhaps I will try parking the car and not applying the hand brake, and see if it does it after that.

Can you feel it in the pedal, or just hear it?

Definitely odd symptoms.....

I can only hear it, you can't feel it on the pedal, it is a really metalic sound, I will have to have the wheel off this week and have a look. was just hoping someone else had had the problem :-(

loose caliper bolts? pads messed up/improperly installed?

only things I can think of
good luck!

Something related to the rotor? That would happen 1x per wheel rev. I dunno, odd indeed.

If it finally stops raining here in the UK I will be able to go out and check if I can find anything.

Weather here has been terrible, seems like it has rained for 2 months non stop
