Hi all

My mate recently picked up this land Cruiser , its got a few issues but he paid a good price for it so hes happy , were just trying to sort said issues with it

The specs: PZJ70 thats been turbo'd with a CT20 I think from a 1KZ? Its spring over, Its all been "engineered and certified" for road use here. Running 35's tyres

The problem: Although it drives alright plently of power etc its got this knocking noise which occurs randomly , on acceleration about every 3-4 times. I've checked wheel bearings for play and all seem okay? CVs seem okay , diffs feel okay? Its in 2WD when the knock occurs so I'm ruling out front diff being a source of the problem?

Anyone got any ideas on what we can look for? I've done a pretty thorough inspection and it doesn't look like anythings moving under load and hitting.

Were stumped for ideas atm , any thoughts welcome. Wondering if its possibly the dual mass flywheel on its way out. What symtons do they give when failing? Its a very distinctive "clunk" and it varies with intensity randomly. It seems like a really weird problem that although I'm pretty familar with land cruisers , this ones got me guessing
