Hey folks looking for real world users on mud to give me feedback for these. I have searched yahoo with mixed reviews from 2-3 years back but nothing today or recently.

From reading they will run a RV AC unit..... basically we had a smal pop-up then went to a Sun-line Que, great camper but our Honda 2000 will not run the AC unit.

I have read various web threads saying that the Kipor 3000 model will run a RV AC unit but also have read several thread s about how "cheap they are" from quality, reliabilty, longevity.

Money wise the Kipor is half the cost of a Honda, the honda quality speaks for itself but I'm trying to not have to spend 2000.00 for the Honda 3K model vs. just 950.00 for the Kipor & then sell the honda 2K.

Should anyone have other alternatives let me know.

Thanks!

Links to the actual models you are looking at would be good.

In my opinion, go with the Honda and have it last 3-4x as long. It's more than just price. The electric start Honda will start in cold weather. Will the cheap one? Also I'd trust the Honda to start after not being used for awhile, will the other one? Another thing to consider is pull starting a greater than 5HP motor is not that easy. Parts availability is also important. I know I can find Honda parts all over.

I bought a 2000 watt Kipor this summer so that we could use the microwave to warm up my sons bottle. Its a 1500 watt with a startup of 1800 watts. The Kipor would only take the load about 1/2 the time, usually kicking out because it was supposedly overloaded. Took it back to the dealer and could not duplicate the problem. We have a 3000 watt Honda at work and it will run anything on my RV, buy the Honda. I know it's more money but you really do get what you pay for. The Honda will be quieter too.

THANKS...... what I was looking for!

I went yesterday & found a Kipor dealer........ seemed like they stole Honda's design.... internally amazing how close!

Guess I keep leaning toward the Honda for its known track record.

Anyone else....

how about buying a 2nd honda 2000 and hooking them together?

something like this

you essentially have a eu4000. :D

google "honda eu2000 parallel" for more info.

If you already have an eu2000i, you can buy another for about the price of the Kipor, and have mre power, more flexibliity, and parts and accessory availability.

Bought a Kipor KGE2000Tc about a year and half ago, stator has failed and I am told by both Kipor North America and Kipor in China that the parts are no longer available...so I now have a $600 paper weight. I would not by another.

I'm surprised you can't run an RV air conditioner with the Honda 2000. We have a Casita trailer and that seems to be the favorite generator among the Casita crowd. You can run the AC but not the microwave at the same time.

Yea, our old one yes but the new one...... as soon as I turned the AC on it kicked the over voltage circuit on the Honda:crybaby:

Think the second honda 2K is in the future....... if cool weather holds out for the crawl I'll be OK:rolleyes:

Dad always said "when you order s h i t you eat s h i t"..my money would difintely be put on the Honda, esp back to back eu2000i. I think the cable kit is around a $100 Your never dissapointed in quality. Good Luck
