Kinda cool DRL bulb mod for at least G2 Tundras / 3157 bulbs.

So to keep this short as possible - I got “buddy - bumped” by a concrete pumper-truck for pouring foundations- the rigs that are fed concrete from tumbler trucks & have the big pipe booms.

It was a ~3mph as he was jockeying his rig & I was stuck as road construction blocked me in.

He thumped my truck & so they bought me new taillights & a bumper, no damage to tailgate.

The replacement taillights I just went full Canbus LED’s - I was spending their $$$.

I got a pair of these as turn RR amber signals:

-work great.

——— pushed my luck & got a variant for front DRL’s — these:

— They are the yellow / white version that pics will spill it.

Just basic truck running:

Truck w/ running lights & even turn signals in motion:

But once you turn headlights on, the DRL’s go white while running, but flash amber for turn signals:

But when you signal turn, it flashes amber:

— I been told like 3x I am an a$$ not signaling a turn, but if you get the white/amber version, nobody can complain, and I like maximum visibility so if you are into the same, the Canbus support from the Auxito stuff supports white DRL’s when headlights are on & flash amber when you turn.

It’s small stuff, but the mod makes you way more visible & I lime the color shift for when I signal my turns.

HTH.

L box was the simple amber flashers for RR tails, R. box it the white/amber combo that improve your signals when turning.

Even if you don’t want the fancy version that a G2 stock Tundra supports, at least ditch the incandescent DRL bulbs for Canbus right LED’s - my factory harness sockets were grey, but had turned brown & the bulb black base had gotten warm to it turning into fibers like buying cheap carbon fiber sheeting.

The incandescent DRLs are too warm for the harness sockets - I’ll spray de-icer on the headlights since all LED setups won’t melt frost or road ice off them.

You can see how the bulbs on R / DRLs even cooked some color into the glass.

No bueno! 😖
