I've joined this forum after many years of being a creep, stealing info and wrenching on my beastie below.
Her name is Mama Bear, she is a 92-06 FZJ/HZJ/HDJ 75-78-79 Troopcarrier. Chassis and body are a 75 ex-fire service comms truck, engine and drivetrain are off a HZJ78 Uni Earth Science rig and the diffs and electrics are off a HDJ78 Wesconnex Tunnel Maintenance vehicle (Ive never seen so much rust).
I do all the work myself, including swapping her from a Petrol to Diesel engine and replacing the front leaf to springs using a salvaged chassis.
Planned upgrades are the 1HDFTE (w/ manual injection) and new factory locking diffs - by new I mean old, or what I can find.
I work in Ag, so she gets put through it on the reg'. My skillset is halfway between mechanic and a hermit crab. If I find it, it fits and it works I take it and slap it on.
