Thank you for your welcome, but the only reason I joined was to post that thread to let the owner know what he did, and that it wasn't forgotten. I don't doubt the owners are good people, but perhaps not cautious enough. The lake was best when few people went there or could find it, but that has changed so now it's just time ticking away till the bench and craper are burned. I appreciate the hard work involved in making it look nicer and think it's a great thing when people get together like this to do good to the hidden little gems. I'll be keeping an eye on it up there don't worry, after all it's in my back yard.

Cheers

Hello 1back40.

I'm the owner of these dogs although I wouldn't call them agressive, I'd call them dogs being dogs but I'm sure that we will disagree on the nature of dogs in general and what they feel their jobs are.

My family spent the weekend up at Kenyon with many others, including other dogs, and just like people, there were a few disagreements. I'm sure they sounded ferocious but I doubt that there were any bites as you claim.

At the time of this incident, I was working in the bush with a few others and I wasn't aware that you were coming back from the lake. As soon as I heard the commotion, I intervened, and yes, I said sorry about that. Once I heard your response I realized that there was not going to be any reasonable semblance of conversation. Your two companions realized that what had taken place wasn't a big deal nor did the other dozen people who witnessed this.

I'm sure you beg to differ but there is little I can do to influence your opinion so I won't bother.

I apologized once and that is all I have to say on the matter.

"but I doubt that there were any bites as you claim"

ARE you :censor: serious is this what you have to say, once again your lucky your muts didn't hurt my dogs eye permanently cause things would of gotten real messy.

That must of been the worst piss poor apology if I have ever herd.

Dogs will be dogs I agree but there comes a time when dog owners have to take responsibility for their pets actions, you did not plain and simple.

You should be consider this a warning, I now have your plate number and will report them to the proper authorities with pictures of my dogs face.

Good Day to You.

You can post the pic here if you like. I'm not above being proven wrong.

I don't know what you are looking for in an apology. I offered one and was told to go :censored myself.

I'm also willing to take responsibility for my pets, even if it involves the police. I was in the back country, the dogs were on bear duty. I'm sure they'll understand.

As far as the warning, what exactly are you warning me about?

I may be speaking out of place but I have to say this:

1back40, you said " didn't hurt my dogs eye permanently" so get over it...

Holy f....ng drama queen.......What do you want to happen... For us to go back in time and put the dogs on a leash. There were at least a dozen other encounters with at least a dozen different dogs... Guess what nothing happened...maybe if your dog wasn't on a leash it would have been able to act how dogs do and nothing would have happened.
Maybe this.... Maybe that.... Your dog did this...I'm going to
do that.......
Grow up!

OK we get it, your not happy with the way the situation was handled. I was there, I saw exactly what happened and quite frankly I don't think there it any reason to place blame on either side. That is my opinion. Everyone is entitled to their own.

So... Let's agree to disagree..

We can beat this thing to the death and no one is ever going to
be happy. We don't need or want your drama. We are a peaceful group of people who enjoy the outdoors. What happened was unfortunate.
It is what it is.. Let it go...

Looks to me you only joined MUD because you wanted to slander someone. As for your silly threat, I have your unedited post. I am sure the proper authorities would learn a lot about you from it and your subsequent posts... :hhmm:

Perhaps they already know you well?

Your a bunch of pansy's, if it was your dog with a 1" scar below its eye you would be complaining to the owners too.

Safari if you have a problem with me or what I said lets meet up so we can talk about it like real adults, just make sure to leave your granny cane at home cause that can be used as weapon you know.

Oh course the only reason I joined mud was to let this irresponsible dog owner know what happened to my dogs face because of her playing in the bushes or what ever her lame excuse is. She hasn't apologized so that shows what kind a of person she is for not taking responsibility for her dogs actions.

Hope to see you guys soon, maybe I'll drive up the road to kenyon this evening to see how everything is up there and maybe do a little remodelling.

Peace :flipoff2:

As I understand it, you got an apology. Your posts speaks volumes about your character. At least we now know where to have the police look first if government propety there gets damaged. Be careful what you post on the internet. It can come back in your face.

I'm sure that's on there high priority list of crime, I bet they would just laugh in your face. Never mind the shooting's and drug deals we got to head 35k up to kenyon there's something going down up there we need all units to report. thanks for the laugh I needed it.
I never side I was going to damage stuff, I've been taking care of that place long time, and will be for a long time to come, it's one one the nicest spots around for sure. I'm looking forward to spending many days up there soon and will keep good care or it for sure. I have been suggesting to many others that there needs to be a blockade at the start of the small trail down to the lake to keep people from driving into and along the shore line. What do you guys think about setting something up like this?

Blockades never seem to work, they either get removed or bypassed eventually. Anyone that can get past the natural barrier that's there now (the big rock/stump/mud hole) could probably get around (one way or another) some kind of trail blockage.

First off, I don't believe you that your dog has a scar and I've invited you to prove me wrong by posting a pic. Second, I apologized on the spot. Third, I'm a male. Fourth, Kenyon is a beautiful area that our club has taken the initiative to improve, with the Ministry's blessing.

And fifth, please avoid maligning all of the good people who post on this site, who are members of a responsible club that promotes accessing our backcountry responsibly, by giving back our time and money to change the image of the typical view that 4x4ers are just out making a mess and ruining the environment.

Finally, I hope that your threat of destroying this good work is just that, a threat.

If you have a beef with me, you've got my plate, as you say, take it to the cops and I'd be happy to deal with it.

Thanks for your 5 steps of bull s***.
Do you think I would even bother finding you if there if nothing happened to my dog, I got better things to do then track down irresponsible pet owners in my spare time.

Enigma, I think the only thing that would block the trail fairly well would be a gate, at least this way it cold be opened up for easier access when work is being done at the lake. Ever since a few years ago when I was woken up in the middle of the night by drunken 4wheelers driving down threw the mud and along the water that I knew something had to be done, let alone them smashing in to my bumper and tearing a gash down his tub, joke was on him that night especially when he woke up the next morning to see his jeep with a big strip torn out of it.

Unforchanatly installation of a gate or other means of stopping trucks going down to the lake go's beyond our authority. Our club has volunteered to update and maintain this site on behalf of the Four Wheel Drive Association of BC. I beleave any changes in access would need to be approved by the Ministry and the Four Wheel Drive Association of BC and access to launch a boat into the lake maintained.

I would almost go the other direction and improve the access to the lake. By removing the obstacles it would remove the attraction to those just looking to play in the mud and make it more appealing to the intended audience.

Just a thought

That sounds like a great idea Drew. Take away the reason to play in the mud and they'll go find it else where.

But then it might turn out like Davis lake with 13 odd rigs parked alone the shore, dripping oil and contaminating the lakes water. This is what I'm afraid of and don't want to see happen to that little gem. It would be a matter of time till some one burns out a truck up there and ditch's it into the lake. It's not like a gate would block of access to the launch anymore then it is now, since most people carry there boat in anyways. One good thing of improving the access to the lake shore is that at least you can sleep comfortably knowing your rig is right out side and not up the trail by it's self where people could steal or vandalize it when your on the island or fast a sleep in the camp site.

So I finally had a chance to read this......hmmm, interesting.
The roads through the back country are mostly fire access roads, originally made usually for forestry or mining but sometimes to offer public access to lakes. These are at all times public access unless they cross into private land. Access to these roads and lakes is public right. The down side of this is that it brings many people that do not respect the habitat and have no regard for their actions or do not realize what their actions do to the land. This is one of the main reasons why the 4WDABC was founded. To fight the loosing battle and clean and maintain these places. This is also what a lot of off-road clubs are doing, like ours, with the help of the 4WDABC. Ideally we would lock everything up and watch pics of it on the internet and never be able to look at it in real life - that would make it last forever....or we can start trying to educate people and making them aware of their actions in hopes they will change. You can't stop it, you can only try to make it better.

heh guys -- this is percisely the reason why I like to drive a long way away from 2.0 million people living on top of each other.

education only works for those that wish a learnin'. great job on the new modern conveniences at Kenyen lake. Four Wheel Drive Association of British Columbia started as a sanctioning body for the off road racing that use to circle this province back in the early 70's. it was later that they adopted land use issues. i thought...

so use it till you lose it.
