Howdy,
I have a 99 100 with 114k miles on it. I have dropped alot of money onto it in the last two years. starter, steering rack, multiple coil packs... and now a TPS et al.
I am worried that the parts replacements won't stop.
Have I done enough to get another 80k out of her?
I am doomed to purchase a Sienna if this thing won't stop going to the shop.
Opinons?
Thanks
S

You shouldn't have anymore high dollar issues, assuming you have done the 90k service already. The problems you had are typical for a 14 year old LC. Do you take it to a mechanic or DIY? It just depends how you use it. Don't get a mini van!

Radiator is another expensive item that can go out. Mine started leaking at 150k

My 99 had the brake master cylinder fail, which is a problem on the 98-99's, at 144K miles before I bought it. Brand new brake master cylinder and brake booster will cost $2K.

Also, I assume the 90K service has been done on yours?

Man, I have 204k miles on my 99 LX - I haven't had ANY of those issues (well, 1 coil pack 2 yrs ago...). That's it. I'm wondering at what point things will actually start failing on my vehicle. So far so good. Going to be time to do tires/front rotors again soon :(

I'll trade my '92 80 for yours... I am looking to move up to a vehicle with an 8 cylinder motor, something with a little more pep for towing our boat.

Let me know...

Thanks for the replies. 90k service was completed. I am not going to sell. I think she is good to go for a few more years. If I do have to do the brakes/master cylinder, I will post it here to sell.
I appreciate the feedback. Love the cruiser. It is my third. Hate mini vans.
Thanks
Shiner
