I have an 05 GX with KDSS. I’m going to do the white line LCA bushings but can’t find a lower ball joint part number. All say non dynamic suspension in the comments. Are these KDSS LCA’s non serviceable as far as ball joints???

I read on the 4Runner forums that the KDSS 4runners have very heavy duty joints that rarely fail as long as the boot and grease remain intact. Is that true for GX’s as well?

It just weird that all the lowers on rock auto, almost all part numbers have a note that they won’t fit KDSS.

Anyone know for sure who has replaced the lower joints? I’ll check mine when they’re off, but I hate tearing everything apart multiple times.

They are 100% the same ball joint. There are a few people on GXOR Facebook page that did it and use regular ball joint.

I would suggest just going with complete new OEM Lexus/Toyota LCA's. Then you get new OEM ball joints and bushings, for much less effort than replacing the bushings and ball joints in your existing arms (it's a simple bolt-on without needing a 20-ton press or other tools). Stiffer bushings like Whitelines are probably good for a sporty car, but not necessarily good for a off-roader like a GX where you want some compliance.

I get it, it’s going to be a pain in the ass, but the rubber bushings are in terrible shape. They look like they’re about to squish out of the control arms. I run poly on just about everything and never regret it.
