Tire carrier: Which side?

How much does thespare tire (mounted on the tire carrier) impede the view through the rear window? I suppose it doesn't matter which side the tire carrier is on, correct? Just a matter of preference, right?

Which side do you have your tire carrier on, and why did you pick that side?

It's mostly a matter of preference -- and whichever side you have it on, you'll get used to it.
I have a slee rear bumper -- the carrier is on the right side by default, so I didn't have a choice.

That said, some say put it on the left so you can have easy access to the curb/sidewalk.

I like mine on the right -- I don't have to unload much to the curb. I'm able to open/close mine one-handed, since I'm right handed, it works well for me.

Most I've seen have the tire on the right and the jerry can on the left.

Guys I believe the price for the bumper itself will be up to $900. I am not exactly sure but that was ball park price I was told. Plus, I figure w/ the way the dollar is going it will cost even more to get the same item in a few months. Any savings is better than no savings for me. Purchasing all these goodies for our trucks is not cheap. So on that note if we can save on any of the things we plan on buying I am all for that.

Steve was correct about this. The 80 series bumper will be going up to somewhere around $900.00 ish. The conversion literally changes all the time, so there is no way to tell. Anyways, as of right now the group buy has ended, thank you to everyone here that decided to buy. By the way, most people prefer the RH tire not only because of the rear view, but also if you are stopped on the side of the road, most people dont want it to swing open into traffic. Other than that it is just personal preference.
