very nice!!

Not so big on the ARB. It's too wide to an already too wide rear end... It would be nice to see it in person. From the pics the Kaymar looks hawt.

DTT255 has probably already put an order in for the ARB.

Nah, not yet. I want better pics before I do that.

the kaymar looks like its rounded at the corner. something different and i think it looks great.

I do like it also..just wish they would have an option for a rear spare placement...maybe they do but have not shown it yet.

You mean like this?

The Kaymar one has options of just the rear carrier(s) or you can add the bumper, even at a later date. The carriers go through the rear reflector locations. The carriers are mounted to the chassis and don't touch the rear bar at all. Very cool. The rear bar almost looks factory fitted.

The white 200 at the top of this thread and the one above are the some vehicle, and same wheel carriers. Just the bumber was added more recently. Dual 20l jerry can holders to come for the LHS in about 8 weeks.

When you see the Kaymar and ARB ones side by side the Kaymar one looks tons better. It iss about 1 1/2 inch higher in the middle giving a few degrees better departure angle.

For Kaymar, and in Aus the sway bars are orderable and deliverable now. The rear bar orderable now and deliveries start in 1 week and the dual Jerry can holder will be 8 weeks ( ish).

The ARB unit is a prototype and is scheduled to be available in February / March.

www.kaymar.net for contact info re US delivery, I have no idea how that might work. BTW you may not get them till your Tuesday PM ( our Wed). Melbourne stops work for Monday and Tuesday for a horse race.:bounce:

Hey all.

Just curious. I see that when folks do a trick rear bumper they also seem to move the spar e tire to a rear mount position.

Is this done for the extra clearance you get by removing the spare from the bottom mount carrier or becuase the bottom mount carrier is no longer accessable?

Or is there some other reason like a trail-ability benefit to having the spare on the back versus the bottom?

Both. Apart from the additional clearance, you can get aftermarket fuel / water tanks up to 45 gallons as a replacement for the aux tank that take up much of the space where the spare usually is.

My 100 series kaymar bar has a small hole in the top checkerplate for the hook/arm to allow for lowering the spare.

Plus, it is much easier to get to the spare if you need it when you're, say, axle deep in mud.

Both look nice...

I wish the ARB one had the option of having the spare tire more central over the back of the vehicle so the brake lights are more visible... I understand it's over there to support twin spares but not necessary if you're running spare + jerry can.

If I get the ARB I might modify that aspect of it before assembly.

We dont need rear swingout tire carriers for going to the Westchester Mall tho...kinda wish I did.

You are probably right about that, but with the current fuel burn, I would go for an additional fuel tank if I could fill it with the main filler. So that would be the justification for the swingout.

I think about an additional 20 US gallons would do in place of the current spare tire. Not sure what that would do to weight distribution, ride quality, braking distances, etc. But I know with about 45 gallons total capacity, I would at least get about a 600 mile city cruise and close to 800 highway. Yeah baby!

thats like, boston and back 4 times for me...with extra mileage to drive around on either end!

Well Kaymar never wrote back to me......nice customer service.
