I've seen that a heat gun can restore some types of uv faded plastic.

What Johnny said is correct. I’ve seen a canoe that was badly faded and had severe cracking come out looking tons better from a heat gun. Also if the boat is LPDE I believe you can fill in cracks and gouges with by melting #4 plastics. I had a run in with a severely neglected Old Town recently so I did a lot of searching and there are several good sites and videos that go into good detail about it.
