Hi,

To the nice gentleman that pulled up next to me in a white 2020/21 GX460 in Anaheim Hills- you asked me at a red light how I liked my JW spare carrier- I was very short with you and not very nice- sorry- just got back from camping and my son threw up on the way back down from big bear.

I like the JW carrier considering all the options out there right now. It does make the swing gate heavier but not bad- the GX is my wife’s primary daily and she doesn’t complain. I had it for a year and so far zero issues.

I hope you see this message and sorry for not being GX community like.

Not the intended party, but I mounted my JW carrier about 2 weeks ago, and can only speak volumes about the quality and ease of installation. There are no vibrations or noises associated with it being on the back door either. I have to agree that it doesn’t significantly impact rear door use.

I was wondering about the quality and longevity of the tire mounted on the door. I know Jeeps have a problem over the long haul hanging a larger tire off the door. I like this one saves the added weight of a bumper and yet still allow us to carry our larger tires on the back.

Tire is still hanging off the door since beginning of October and has not impacted anything (hinges, door metal, etc.) even after some rough road running. The prado 150 runs a rear door mounted tire carrier from the factory and uses what appear to be the same part numbers for the hinges so nothing makes me believe this won't be sufficient for the long term.

that is great news! I would prefer this tire carrier over a heaver bumper...
