Just picked up a 100

The 100 is going to ACC soon to get a round of parts installed, so here's a general update to get caught up. I'm approaching 2 years of ownership. The serpentine tensioner failed, but luckily I was close to a dealer in the city. I also had 1 coilpack bite the dust awhile ago. I carry a spare one, plus a code reader along with the FSM on a thumb drive. Other than those, I've done PM such as serpentine idler pulley, alternator, swaybar bushings, and heater Ts with OEM parts.

It has 166K currently. The next 90K is due at 220K, so I'm mostly replacing bushings and other wearing items the next couple years.

Hopefully it lands on the same page as the 80 comparison. My 100 vs a 200 just for kicks:

Looks good, can't wait to see the pics post lift.

ACC has been working on it today, plus will finish tomorrow. The parts are pretty self explanatory, except the boxes are ujoints to rebuild/rebalance both driveshafts. I went with 865 springs with stock torsion bars.

Initial impression is awesome. The engine is much smoother and quieter on the highway. I also got rid of the odd highway handling. I originally was thinking steering rack, but the 4 rear axle control arms seemed to fix that issue. The slack in the drivetrain is gone in stop and go traffic. Also the brakes feel more solid with a linear feel now that everything is tight.

I need to drop the front 1". It was lifted 2.5 front and 1.5 in the rear for a total rake of 0.5". It's lifting the fronts on speed bumps, so I'll lower it next week and use my lifetime alignment. ACC had a local shop align this week, so it drives good for so much lift.

so what's the plan for the tires, if any?

295s on the 16" wheels hopefully next year as the original tires have 6/32" remaining. Not regearing, but a front arb locker should happen around the same time.

I put new outer tie rods on the LC, then firestone aligned it. This is OEM front end with 21" hub to center. The tech spent over an hour adjusting the camber and caster side to side, then got the toe set.

2.2 degree caster and the truck drives like stock! Aftermarket UCAs are now off my wish list!!
