I called up Dan in Alb. NM to get a price on 2 new rotors and 100 series pads and will order them from him on Thursday for $213 plus shipping. I thought I would call a couple places here in town and see what the price would be locally just for the hell of it, plus installation even though I am going to do it myself of course. At Avondale Toyota they want $104 a piece for the rotors, and pads $75. Total price for parts and installation......$418 plus tax. I then call up the Lexus dealer on Bell Rd, they want $140 a piece for the rotors, and $90 for pads, and total price for parts and installation......kapow! $765!! Its just amazing to me that 2 mechanics doing the exact same job can be so different.
I did go up to the Lexus dealer last week to get a replacement master door key for a spare, it was $65, and also 2 gallons of Toyota red coolant at $27 a piece for a flush sometime in the future. I guess you pay for the plushness of the dealer. I made sure I go there hungry and at lunchtime with my 3 year old boy, so we can both sit down and eat all their snadwiches and snacks, thats what they are there for right?
