Im here from the 100 series Landcruiser forum. I just bought a 2013 Rock Warrior. Looks like it was driven mostly highway. Its in great shape with 75k miles. Anyone have info on the Rock Warrior? I dont know anything about it really. Seems pretty cool though. Now, in my driveway we have a 98 Landcruiser, an Lexus LX 350 and a Rock Warrior.

Congrats on the Tundra. I own a 14 and could not be happier. The Rock Warrior is a good looking package.... You will be able to enjoy it for a long time.

Toyota rolls out Tundra's Rock Warrior pickup

and from Wikipedia...

Rock Warrior Package[edit]

Toyota Tundra Rock Warrior edition
For the 2009 model year, Toyota introduced a new off-road themed option package called the TRD Rock Warrior. This option package was only available on the 4x4 Tundras with either the Double Cab or the CrewMax cab. Included in the option group included 17" TRD forged aluminum wheels, LT285/70R-17 BF Goodrich All-Terrian T/A tires, Bilstein shocks, color matched front bumper and grille, matte-black rear bumper, and fog lights. The interior included black cloth bucket seats, sport shift knob, and pedal covers. Double cab models received a sliding rear window. The TRD Rock Warrior package was only available in Black or Super White. For the 2011 model year, the Rock Warrior package continued with some minor changes. Manual sliding rear window with privacy glass (Double Cab), and TRD Rock Warrior graphics. (Available in the following exteriorcolors: Black, Radiant Red, Magnetic Gray Metallic or Super White only.

Hmmm. Interesting. The truck in the pic above lacks the Rock Warrior rims.

The Rock Warrior rims, the 17x8 alloy units, are hugely popular with the 200 series Cruiser guys. I bought a few sets of the rims myself.

But Wikipedia is never wrong! LOL...didn't pay enough attention to the pic as I cut and paste...

I also own a 13 CrewMax Rock Warrior LTD with the RW wheels, I absolutely love it. I had an 01 Gen 1 Tundra and loved it as well, drove it for 13 years, I use my 13 CM RW to pull my 77 FJ40 around now. I just put a new set of BFG AT's KO2's on it, the gas mileage sucks with the 5.7L, but I didn't buy it for the gas mileage.

@highground

I read your comment about gas mileage. Yup. Same here. My '14 Crewmax 5.7 is a PIG! It's thirsty!

@Rigger

I see in your sig block you lifted your 14 Tundra. What setup did you use and how much did you lift it front and rear. I want to lift mine a little and level it out but not stress my components. Thanks!

I love my 10 RW. It's essentially a TRD package on the base model. Best looking rims they ever used, but the 17s are a weird size and it limits tire choices. I run Nitto DuraTrax and like them a lot for heavy towing. Most RWs will plug and play with the info buttons that are not there from the factory. I bought a set and they did work when plugged in. cloth seats wear fast, at least on the early ones. I run Wet Okeles to keep them new looking.
My biggest reason for going with a base is because of the body color grill and bumpers. I had four chrome bumpers on my 07 in 3 years. Body color looks better and does not have the rust problems. I've since replaced the front with a Fab Fours and the rear with a Viper.
@highground I have a 2 1/2 lift in the front and airbags in the rear. I like it, but it does cause CV joint wear even with the front diff drop. It does kill fuel mileage. I can't get 15 since the lift no matter what I do.

@Gumby

I also ran Wet Okoles on my 01 Gen 1 Tundra and they made a big difference with those cloth seats, I do have all leather in my 13 CM RW LTD and they sure are nice. I really would like to level it out but I may leave it as is as I don't want any CV/Bearing/abnormal wear issues with it. I have never been able to get more than 14MPG out of my 5.7 even after removing all the California crap on it and going with a K&N. I put a new set of BFG AT KO2's on it and pulled a 8,000LB load out and back to Colorado last fall and barely kept it to 12.4 MPG. I do love the power though, especially in the mountains. Your White DC RW looks good.. Thanks for the reply...

Mine has a RevTek spacer up front. It's like 1-1/2" or something.

I ran a K&N for one oil change hoping for fuel mileage. A Blackstone test showed higher levels of silicates (dirt) and aluminum (engine wear) in the oil. I took it out and went back to Toyota paper.
@Gumby

Interesting, I need to have mine checked out.

A lot of RW buyers buy it for the other features, not the undersized wheels so they upgrade and sell the old ones, hence you were able to buy them for those smaller vehicles. They are good looking wheels though.
