I found this new in the box setup for a price I just couldnt pass up.
Its a 885/895(med). It'll pretty much suit my needs for awhile. Have no plans
for a winch until this becomes a trail rig.

We went with loosening upper ball joint and disconnecting tie rod. I've read of
other ways but this way made it pretty easy to put the strut in. Was also a little
skeptical of just using 2 standard coil spring compressors. But they worked just fine for a $35 pair.
Took about 5 hours taking our time with a break here and there.
285 BFG AT coming as soon as Uncle Sam pays me back. That'll be all for this
truck for quite some time. I should be spending $$$$ on the 40:doh: .

A special thanks to cruiserhead for always being there for me and helping.
I am truely grateful for your friendship.

Took it to the trail this AM for a spin.
1st two pics before and after.

Looks great - have fun with it.

Having never done a coil spring lift before, I must admit I'm curious about the after-lift gotchas and adjustments. Did you have to get your wheels re-aligned after the lift, and did they / can they adjust the camber / caster on the front? Also, did you get a feel for how much slack was left on the brake and electrical lines?

Anything more than a couple of inches on the leaf sprung lifts I've done before required longer brake lines, and new steering linkage in some cases. I'm seriously thinking about the OME lift, but I'd like to hear what if any gotchas folks have run into.

Alignment will be needed. Going to get that done this weekend.

Brake lines were fine.

Where were you in the trails? Fill me in, I wanna get my 60 in the woods!
