Ride height is so much taller than most other cars; collision forces transmit through the bumper to the truck frame. (Not smack dab in middle of a unibody cab.)
I know SUVs get many labels, among them safety. If you have greater mass, your velocity will be changed less, other things equal.
Sometimes, we wish it didn't change at all. But when it needs to, your Land Cruiser will be there for you.
