June 6, 2009 – Stave Lake Cleanup

Staging area is by the booth at Stave dam.

Starts at 9 am, wrap up starting at 3 pm. Lunch is on the 4WDABC.

Volunteers needed for soliciting prizes and for the cleanup itself. If anyone with a first aid ticket that would be interested in volunteering for that role that would be great. Also, someone to assist with communication from the main staging area to the flats is needed. VHF would be required for this.

Mission dump is free for cleanup volunteers that day, 4WDABC will provide pass at the booth by Stave dam. A container for metals will be provided by a scrap metal company from Albion.

Items needed:
A Shelter, 10x10 or so.
BBQ’s, 2 preferably.

PM me if you can supply or volunteer for any of the above.

I am too, my flight leaves early on the 6th, unfortunately. I booked this before I was aware of the date for this event.

I plan to be there and bring my BBQ (full-size) and 10X10 Easy-up.

I'm cool with running the BBQ if they need help feeding the masses.

If heading east along #7, turn left at the intersection right before the stave river bridge (287th I think it is). There is a gas station/corner store on the north side. Follow that road as it winds along and it comes up right beside the dam.
Keep going past the dam till it comes to Dewdney Trunk Road, turn right and follow that towards the FSR.

Cheap fuel in Silverdale as well. That's that place along the #7 as you are heading towards Mission with the 3 gas stations on either side of the highway.

4WDABC Stave Lake Cleanup

Good day and tons of garbage removed. Phil and his girls came by to get in on the cleanup. Not visible in the last photo is a 20' bin that was piled full of scrap metal.
