July 4th Carter Finley Tailgaiting?

So the Wellers and Mr. Ashcroft have devised a plan to do a bit'o celebrating for the 4th. Thinking of heading out mid afternoon to Carter Finley parking lot, grillin' and drinkin' some beverages. A bit of pre-game for the fireworks if you will.

So who's in town and wants to meet up? Getting there that early should guarantee a pretty good spot for the fireworks.

We are in town and have an invite to a "kids" 4th party but would rather do something like this. I've just got to singe my own eyebrows, it my inner pyro speaking...

Lily was 1 when she got her first dose, but she slept through them all. Last year she was super excited about them...

BIG maybe here. Been here all week but gotta get back for some clean clothes. Would just buy some but did that last week Where is the action? Do they pack the stadium or do you hang in the lot?

Jerry, no idea about the "rules" - weird as it really is, this was a brand new thought for me, and I have never gone there to watch the fireworks.

I'm looking forward to it and was planning on heading out around 4:30 or 5:00, grilling around 6:30 or 7:00, and fireworks at 9:30 (I think that's the right time). Just give me a ring on your way out if you are coming and I'll let you know about where we are in the lot. We'll probably be over near the SoutEast lot, close to Trinity near the trees, but that's just a rough guess.

Alot of places here locally are doing the stuff tonight. Bragg is still tomorrow though. Even though the 82nd"s Band building burnt down to the ground just the other day.
