Since I won't be at the meeting next Tuesday, I figured I'd post the highlights online and hope someone downloads them to be read into the minutes at our meeting.

IT was a long meeting, one hour and 45 minutes, but there was a lot to cover.

Jeff announced that our webmaster has accepted a new job which will require him moving to AFGANISTAN, so, TLCA is now looking for a new webmaster....again. Job pays 500/month.

Jeff has formed a merchandise committee to look at merchandise, yet again.:rolleyes:THe committee is currently composed of him, Matt Farr and Art Schramm. The TLCA has no money to give to the committee, so the committee has no plans at the moment.:hhmm:

MSVP report-Art reported that 5 people have now taken advantage of the TLCA membership referral program that offers you $5 off your next year's membership for each new member you bring in. Art also reported that Matt is working on the NEW TLCA flyer that they are going to ask their associate members to distribute. I guess that means I'll be seeing one at some point!

Treasurer reported a modest increase in our bank account, but several pending bills that will leave us only about 2k ahead of where we were last month.

The contract for the Administrator's position expires on 7/31 [tomorrow]and we currently have no AVP to negotiate a new contract. THe contract will become month to month at that point. Jeff asked if anyone else was interested. It pays $18k/year. If you are interested, contact him and he will forward a copy of the current contract with the full job description.

There is a new committee formed to explore the tiered membership concept that was brought up a few months ago. In a nutshell, there has been a push to create an online-only magazine version of membership at a reduced rate that reflects our lower cost in not having to pay shipping on 6 magazines {@appx $2 each]

Phil Johnson from MTA said that it would be nice if TLCA could figure out a way to make it so that CHAPTER members got a break on membership dues, so there would be some additional 'draw' to get individual members into chapters.
I suggested that we could offer a discounted membership to the chapters IF THE CHAPTERS WERE WILLING TO AGREE TO TAKE BULK MAIL DISTRIBUTION of their Toyota Trails. A number of folks chimed in who liked this idea, noting that it would increase members interest in attending the club meetings as well.
THIS IS SOMETHING OUR CLUB NEEDS TO DISCUSS, so that I can provide imput at the next meeting.

A lengthy discussion ensued about the raffle truck. So far, no one has stepped forward to volunteer to take charge of the project. Logisitcs were discussed at length, and a couple of folks from back east asked if there were objections to moving the truck back east to have the work done. One gentleman said they knew someone in TX that might be willing to do it. Another said they knew someone in IA or CO. I told them I have no personal objection to where the truck was worked on, only the concern expressed by the Trail Crew as to how oversight on the quality of the work will be handled.

There was a motion and discussion over a new program to have TLCA absorb some of the ad design costs of producing new ads in TT. The thought is that certain vendors have shyed away from advertising for the simple reason that they cannot afford the extra cost of developing an ad. The motion was to have TLCA cover an hour of graphic services for a 1/4 page ad, 2 hours on a half page, and 3 on a full page. I abstained from the vote on this proposal because I do not believe it contains adequate assurances that the vendors will stay the course with advertising in exchange for the free adwork.

There was more, but I am tired.
