Took some time last night to replace tha tired worn carb in my 85. Made a nice difference in the idle for sure. Didn't get a chance to road test it yet as it was 4:00am when I finished. Thanks Jim C for a great job! Tried to replace the exhaust/intake gasket but was way to tired by that time and had one heck of a time trying to loosen the two underside bolts. Those things were not going to budge. Didn't have time to try heat so I put it back together and will have to have a muffler guy take a look. There is a slight exhaust tic, tic, tic when under exceleration but I cant locate it when it is at idle. In any event the carb is great and I am sure it will make a nicer ride. I think one of the reasons it was runnung ruff was that the nuts that hold the carb on were finger tight and I didn't even need mechanical assistance to get them off. live and learn. Glad I had the FSM to reconnect the vac hoses!!!
