I was advised that Land Cruiser window stickers now indicate made in Japan, with 95% Japanese and 5% U.S. parts content. Apparently, the LX still shows 100% Japanese parts.

Is there any truth to that? And if so, do we know what kinds of parts are exported from the U.S. to Toyota City?

The 5% is USA port Installed Options like Floor Mats , Hood protector , Roof rack Maybe , the Alarm system perhaps ............

I know the floor mats are made in the USA

That point about the roof rack got me thinking. They were port installed on the 80, not sure on the 100, but it looks like maybe they are factory items on the 200.

This is a fascinating article and the pic shows one of the 200s in the assembly line with a roof rack on it.

Pride of the land: visiting the Japanese factory that makes Toyota’s ubiquitous Land Cruiser

I believe the auto dimming mirrors are also made in the USA. I wonder what kind of auto dimming mirror the LX uses if it's made in Japan.

This thread has got me thinking if upcoming tariffs will impact price of Japanese import vehicles.
