Jackmate looks to be a good acc for the Hilift

But do I need one, is it better than the end that comes on the X-Treme jack?

the pin-install on the Jackmate would be easier to remove than the bolt/wingnut on the highlift...and since it "captures" the highlift bar, it's also likely a little better than the extreme portion that only mounts to one side...

functionally, I'm not sure there is a major difference....

if they sold the extreme bits as stand-alone, I'd probably buy that. But I already have 2 hilift jacks, so I would lean towards the jackmate as an accessory.

I have an extreme High-Lift and it's worked great for me. I used it as a winch to wrestle my 60 out of a snowy ditch last year and it worked like a charm.

I just ordered the 60" all cast Hi-Lift from IPOR this morning, and I have the Hi-Lift off road kit (the winching attachments) coming from eBay. Eventually I will get myself a Jackmate and Slee's Jac-koff to complete the kit.

I looked at the Hi-Lift X-TREME (is it really that hard to spell extreme?) in person yesterday. I liked the way the attachment has grooves to keep it aligned with the jack. However, according to Hi-Lift's website, the clamp is rated to 5000lbs, not the full 7000lb capacity of the jack. I know that's still a lot, but I would rather have the lifting pins shear than have a heavy chunk of metal come flying off.

I just ordered a Jackmate, it has been recently redesigned and looks more versatile to me. It can also be used as a jack base where flat plate is problematic.
Besides how can you go wrong with something that has a bottle opener designed in. :)
