With bad weather coming I decided to fill up the gas tank so we could do a little riding in the snow if there is that much. Went to the local Sheetz and while I was filling up I heard the customer next to me say "Nice truck. What was it a mail truck?" When I told him what it was a very puzzled look came over his face and he just had to walk to the front to inspect.

I have never heard that question before.

They used cj8s as mail trucks in alaska
 
My aunt drove a rural route in Michigan for years in Jeep Cherokees. Quadratrac was the shiznit. Mostly dirt roads in the woods around a bunch of lakes. She ended up being Post Master there and bought her favorite house she talked about for years, on one of the lakes at Sheriff's sale. No one bid against her.

I get asked once or twice every few months if my lhd was mail delivery... Some didnt grasp that no... People in some countries did drive on the opposite side.... Boggled their minds
 
I hear. That ALL THE TIME.
"Boy look at that. You deliver mail in that thing? Har har"
Often people cracking themselves up as though no one has ever said it before.
 
@RedHeadedStepChild just look at them a little cross eyed and tell them you are not allowed to work for the government any longer. They'll leave you alone.

I remember Tim that used to work here at Volvo had a lady chase him down when he was driving his 40 on a Sunday. "Wait!!!!!! I didn't know y'all delivered mail on Sunday."
